Carbon — Cypress Shou Sugi Ban
Carbon is the darkest expression of our Shou Sugi Ban process. Full carbonization — a prolonged, controlled burn that converts the surface to pure char. After brushing, what remains is a deeply black surface with subtle bronze iridescence and dramatic grain relief that changes in different light. No two boards are identical.
Hand-burned, brushed, and finished in our Georgia workshop. Built for statement walls, ceiling installations, and architectural feature panels. Holds up indoors and out.
How We Build It
3/4" solid Cypress, 6" wide, random lengths 8'–16'. Interior or exterior. Nickel gap, shiplap, or T&G.
Also available in 8" width. Char depth and finish can be specified.
